Nov. 24th 2007- R.I. Billiards; N. Providence, R.I.

  30 Armwrestlers from 5 states packed into R.I. billiards for the International Armwrestling Federation RI State Championship sponsored by Daniel Chapter One. Dirk Ramirez from Louisiana drove 4.5 hours from PA on his vacation to compete in 6 different weight classes from under 176 lbs. up to 220 lbs., right and left handed. All entries were given Team DC1 t-shirts and prizes were provided by Daniel Chapter One for all top 3 finishers.

   There were several great matches including a grueling battle between two former National Champions, Dirk Ramirez and Tony Patterson for the under 176 lb. right hand title. Ron Ermini came out of the losers bracket to defeat Rick Couto for 1st place in the Right Handed 199-220 lb. catagory. Former World and National Champion Jerry Cadorette looked unstoppable and was undefeated right and left handed in the SHW division.

   Thanks to my referees Bill Cox, Josh Stark, Badger Drewes, and Tim Sears and thanks to my lovely scorekeeper Michele for keeping things straight. Special thanks go out to Prisilla Bean for her patience and support.
